Since 2011 was a very good year for Chrysler and co., that meant they could sit back and rest a little bit for 2012 right? Sergio Marchionne, head of FIAT-Chrysler doesn’t seem to think so.
Chrysler and its CEO have seemed to do things the exact opposite way everyone expects them to do things, which has worked quite well for the surging automaker. So when Chrysler designed the 2012 200, they did the illogical thing again, just one year before the 200 gets a total makeover: they made the already luxurious Sebring-replacement more refined and as efficient and safe as ever.
The new 2012 Chrysler 200 has won the 2012 IIHS Top Safety Pick award, while getting an EPA-estimated 29 MPG on the highway and making 283 HP with it’s 3.6L engine, leading it’s class in both categories respectively.
The Chrysler 200 is also the fastest growing sedan in its class, according to Chrysler Group LLC., and we can see why ourselves. As if the interior isn’t already luxurious enough, Chrysler includes a 40 GB Touchscreen Radio with Bluetooth streaming audio to the Chrysler 200, making it convenient and simple to store music in your vehicle without the mess of iPods or CDs.

If you opt for the even classier (if possible) convertible version of the 200, the you’re probably the type that likes to take things to the next level…and that’s okay in our eyes. The Chrysler 200 Convertible wouldn’t look out of place strolling along Hollywood Boulevard, but wherever you take it is sure to be a joyous occasion.
Safety was also a priority to the Detroit automaker, making the 200 (and it’s convertible) as sound as possible with standard advanced airbag systems, high-strength solid steel construction, and active headrests in case of rear collisions (think of it as anti-whiplash headrests).
With all these great features, the 2012 Chrysler 200 and Chrysler 200 Convertible are oozing with richness from their cabins, and it shows especially when drop the top on the convertible.
